Workflow & Approximate Timeline

Here’s an overview of my illustration process from concept to final delivery.

Times may vary for larger illustrations, but they can usually be done within 6-12 weeks.

Please allow extra time for projects that include more than one illustration.

  • This is where you can share any reference materials, such as mood boards, color palettes, favorite past works, typography preferences, or other inspiration. We will also review contract details, deadlines, licensing terms, and any additional fees for extra revisions. A deposit of 25% of the total project fee is typically required before work begins.

  • I begin by creating a mind map and approximately 9–10 loose thumbnail concepts per illustration. Even when a strong vision is already established, exploring multiple options helps ensure the best direction. From these thumbnails, I select 2–3 of the strongest concepts to develop into more detailed rough sketches for review.

This includes variations in color, character design, line weight, and other key details.

Additional sketch rounds beyond the first can be provided for an extra fee.

  • I send 1–3 rough drafts, refined to a near-final state, showcasing variations in details, colors, and other elements. You can select your preferred version and provide feedback to ensure the final piece achieves your desired look.

  • Once the final piece is delivered, up to two rounds of revisions are included to refine details, adjust colors, or make minor changes as needed. This ensures the illustration meets your vision while keeping the process efficient and on schedule.

  • After all revisions are complete, the final files will be sent to you. Payment is due within 30 days of project completion.

Depending on the size and complexity of the illustration, additional revision rounds beyond the included two may incur a fee of $50–$1,000 per revision round.
